What To expect during your newborn session

Every newborn session is unique. Some babies will sleep through the whole session and things will wrap up quickly. Other babies will need more attention and breaks. Do not stress we will get all our shots in and the more relaxed mom and dad are, the more the baby will be too.

Your session will either be done in-studio or as a lifestyle session in your home.

If you have some specific shots you would like please inform me beforehand so I can prepare for them.

Here are some guidelines to follow in order to prepare for your in-studio newborn session

If you are within half an hour of our studio location please try to feed your new little one before you come, if not we will do a feeding as soon as you arrive.

Try to keep the baby awake at least 45 minutes before your arrival, this includes in the car as well. This will ensure that your baby will be nice and sleepy once they arrive at the studio.

Although we are working on getting toys and activities for siblings in-studio please bring a few items to keep your other children busy as well.

Bring a few extra bottles, binkies, and also feel free to bring snacks and drinks for yourselves and your other children as well.

Here are some guidelines to follow in order to prepare for your lifestyle newborn session

Please keep your baby awake for AT LEAST one hour prior to my arrival and feed them between 15-30 minutes of my arrival.

Make sure you heat is at least 75 degrees.  Babies cannot regulate their temperature yet so we need to keep them warm. If it is summer just make sure your air conditioning is turned off 15 mins prior to my arrival.

Have a pacifier and bottle ready. A lot of times while we get them to pose they may need a little calming down.

Baby needs to be in a diaper only when I arrive. So when I arrive, we do not have to disturb them

Have burp clothes and wipes out. Accidents are very common and nothing to worry about.

If you have any other questions or concerns about your upcoming newborn shoot do not hesitate to email or call me.
